Know your iceberg

February 10, 2016

Everyone knows the deal when they see a literal iceberg: 85% of its mass lies beneath the surface of the water. It's also a great analogy for a lot of challenges you'll run into in business, on the farm or otherwise. A lot of times we focus on the visible or obvious 15% of the issue without digging in and finding out what it is that's causing the issue; that's the 85% that should really be addressed.

Director Dean Heffta shares the story of a farmer who developed a system that allowed him to delve into that 85% when it came to communicating with his landlords. His survey system helped him get to the meat of what really mattered to his landlords, and in turn he forged much better relationships with them.

Find out what it means to know your iceberg and get some ideas on how to start focusing on the underlying issues with Dean in this interview for the Rural Radio Network.
